Coach Doug Quinn

 

Playing Experience
Doug Quinn played his entire minor hockey in Red Deer, Alberta playing Bantam AAA as well as Midget AAA. At age 17 he moved to Nanaimo, British Columbia to play for the Nanaimo Islanders in the WHL where he was drafted 90th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in 1983. The next 2 years, Doug played for the New Westminster Bruins and finished his junior hockey career with the Lethbridge Broncos playing in the Eastern Conference All-star game.

In the 1986-87 season, Doug moved on to the University of Calgary, where he played from 1986-91 graduating with a BA in economics and a Management minor. Doug was named top Defenseman in the CWUAA as well as the University All-Canadian for 3 consecutive years (1989-91). Doug also played a some games for the Canadian National Team during the 90-91 season. Doug retired from competitive hockey after the 1991 season and continues to play senior adult hockey in Red Deer.

 

Coaching Experience
Doug coached for various hockey schools during his playing career. His coaching career started in 2002-03 season as an assistant coach for 15 year old elite team in Red Deer.
