Hockey plays you need to know

             Triangle Offense

The three offensive forwards should maintain a triangle as they attack the opposing goal.

Quick crisp and short passes are made between the players and are essential to have this system work well. If the puck carrier moves out of the triangle, the other two forwards must adjust to maintain the triangular shape.  The triangle pattern gives the puck carrier two targets for passes.  It makes it more difficult for the defenders to cover all three players.  Generally one defender will cover the puck carrier but the other two players are more difficult to cover when they are in the triangular shape.
