Resources for Players
If you are a new player and don't know what a term means and are afraid to ask your teammates - look it up in our glossary or search our site. We think it is one of the most extensive on the Internet. If you have never played hockey and are exploring becoming a hockey player we have a page of advice and first steps you can take to try it out- Getting started playing hockey.
Lifetime Hockey tries to be as helpful as possible for no-check players so we have developed a number of web pages which are part of our skills handbook. It has comprehensive advice and instructions on everything from buying equipment to taking the shot that scores. We can also direct you to good deals on equipment that will fit the older player. Check out our instructions to build a Hockey Tree and save your equipment! If you are captain of your team and need a blank hockey rink diagram or score sheet we have those too.
Hockey is a fluid and spontaneous game, but all players need to know at least a few basic plays. We have animated the fundamental plays that we think are basic to the game and that all players should master. After you view these plays try them out for real at our annual hockey camp.
Visit our bookstore which lists those books, videos and other resources that we think can be helpful to the adult beginning and intermediate hockey player. We also have listed a few of our favorite links to other hockey websites.
We have written a comprehensive and complete handbook for no-check players. Many of the chapters in this handbook are available in the Skills' section. Other training resources are included as well.
Do you want to support Lifetime Hockey and its mission? It's simple: attend our hockey camp, buy equipment through our Equipment Store or purchase books and DVDs through our Amazon bookstore (we receive a small commission which helps with our hosting fee). We thank you for your support.
